About the Conference

The Asian and Australasian Society of Labour Economics (AASLE) was incubated in 2016 with the primary aim of promoting research and cooperation in labour and applied economics across the region of Asian and Australasia. The AASLE Conference series is an annual gathering to discuss policies and applications in labour economics. The previous conferences were organised in Australia (2017), South Korea (2018), Singapore (2019) and online (2020). This year’s conference will be hosted by Peking University in Beijing, China on 9-11 December 2021.

Submission Information

The paper submission is now open. We invite submissions on any topic related to labour and applied economics. Submissions for presentation should include an abstract (max. 250 words) and a full paper. Contributors are invited to submit papers for consideration by 18 July 2021.

Authors of accepted papers will also have the opportunity to submit their paper for consideration for a special conference issue of Labour Economics. Guest editors of the special issue are Sascha Becker and Jessica Pan. In this year’s conference, a job market session will be dedicated to young researchers who are planning to be on the job market in 2021/2022.
