摘要:

We analyze the effects of international capital movements on welfare and growth in a two-country, dynamic trade framework. In an extended Heckscher-Ohlin model, we show that financial integration can reverse long-run trade patterns: an initially labor-abundant country may end up exporting capital-intensive goods. Introducing firm heterogeneity à la Moll reveals that capital mobility can alleviate capital misallocation. Finally, using a unified Melitz-Moll framework with endogenous growth, we demonstrate how financial development differentially influences the growth rates in debtor and creditor nations.
