题目： Institutional Isolation, Patient Routing and COVID-19 Patient Outcomes: Evidence from the Public Intervention of Fangcang Shelter Hospitals （方舱医院与COVID-19的传播和治疗的关系研究）
报告摘要：
We examine the impact of the public intervention of Fangcang shelter hospitals (FSHs) on COVID-19 patient outcomes. We are interested in whether the FSH intervention, which substitutes for home isolation and changes patient routing, could improve patient outcomes. We estimate the FSH impact on transmission control using an epidemiological model and show that the intervention leads to a reduction in the total confirmed cases. Using the data from FSHs and COVID-19 designated hospitals, we also compare the severity and mortality of COVID-19 patients in Wuhan districts with new openings of FSHs to those in districts without new openings using a difference-in-difference method. The results show that compared to those designated hospitals in control districts, both the number of severe patients and the in-hospital fatalities decrease significantly.
主讲人简介：
赵昕，2016年博士毕业于美国科罗拉多大学博尔德分校经济系，现任对外经济贸易大学国际经济贸易学院经济系副教授。主要研究领域包括健康经济学，产业经济学，应用微观经济学。专注研究药品市场竞争与创新，公立医院管理与改革，养老产业发展等问题。曾在Journal of Health Economics，International Journal of Industrial Organization等发表论文。主持和参与多项国家自然科学基金等国家级和省部级项目，担任International Journal of Industrial Organization审稿人。
