NBA China Internship Program 

March 2010

I The Program

At the NBA, the Internship Program gives matriculating students a chance to build on their work experience and learn about what goes on outside the lines and behind the scenes of a basketball. This internship program also offers Interns the opportunity to participate in a series of events and activities that provide exposure to the varied facets of the NBA business.

l Starts from early June till end of August . 
l Selection Criteria:   
Intern Program, students must be 
1. enrolled in a college or university at the undergraduate level or master level.
2. Interns must be able to dedicate full time hours, Monday through Friday, the internship period should be minimum four weeks and maximum eight weeks. 
3. All students must be in good academic standing and have basic computer skills as well as acceptable written and verbal communication skills in English.

II Application of the Internship Program

Students who are interested in this Internship Program may apply through one of the following channels:
       Send resume in Chinese and English to career@bimba.pku.edu.cn by March 30th.


III   Selecting Process

In early May of each year, the HR will discuss with each department head on their need of Interns. The final budget and plan must be endorsed by the CEO of NBA China

A JR form to be filled by the department and signed off by the Head of HR and the China CEO.

Applicants will go through the normal interview procedure with the HR and the hiring manager.

An Internship Offer will be signed with the selected students before they start the interns. All selected applicants will be placed within NBA China based on interest, experience, academics, and the NBA business needs.

IV   Internship Benefits

Selected interns will be offered standard allowance which is RMB1, 500 each month regardless of their background. Besides, NBA China will provide personal accident insurance for each intern during the internship period. 

There is no any other cash allowance being provided to interns, such as transportation, meal or accommodation fee, etc.

V  Working as an Intern

All interns should strictly abide by the NBA’s Code of Conduct, Legal Compliance Policy, as well as the policy of Intellectual Property & Confidentiality. Interns must be punctual for work and observe normal working hours.

The hiring managers should be responsible during the entire internship to assign appropriate work to interns, teach and coach them to meet the performance standard.


VI Administrations

On-boarding: 
No email account will be set up for interns. Interns are encouraged to use their own lap tops during the internship period, the public computer/lap top may be provided if necessary. Basic stationary will be prepared by the company. Due to limited office space, interns do not have their own cubic or seat. Temp seats such as public working areas or vacant seats during staff traveling time will be provided.

Security:
Prior each intern on-boarding, HR will notify Admin staff and Security Director for security and administrative purposes. No company door card will be provided for internship period less than/including four weeks. Temp door card will be provided for internship period more than four weeks and must be collected before interns exit.

Exit Procedure:
Interns should complete and return the Exit Form on their last working day with all signatures required. It is interns’ responsibility to take care of all the NBA equipments and materials without any damage.


VII Evaluation

The hiring manager may be required to provide comments / evaluation on the interns’ work performance and potential at the end of the internship.  Human Resource department will issue an Internship Certificate according the performance feedback from hiring manager.

VIII The Company reserves the right to refine, modify or cancel this program when it is necessary.
