题目: Home Ownership Rights, Intrahousehold Bargaining, and Educational Investments in China

 

摘要: In this study, we evaluate the impact of a legal reform in 2012 that gave individuals full property rights over pre-marital assets (including housing) on household spending on children’s education. Analysing panel data from CHARLS, we find that when women owned homes prior to marriage, the reform led to greater household expenditures on childrens’ education, in particular for girls. 

 

主讲人简介：

Albert Park教授1996年获得斯坦福大学博士学位。现为香港科技大学教授，主要研究领域为发展经济学、经济转型、劳动经济学、应用微观、中国经济。曾在Review of Economics and Statistics, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Human Resources 等顶级刊物各发表过数篇论文。
