徐化愚现任北京大学国家发展研究院、南南合作与发展学院经济学助理教授。他于2020年获密歇根大学经济学博士学位，主要研究方向为发展经济学和人事经济学。他的研究获得国家自然科学基金、Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA), William T. Grant Foundation等国内外知名学术机构的资助，成果发表于American Economic Journal: Applied Economics、Journal of Public Economics、Journal of Development Economics、Journal of Urban Economics、Journal of Comparative Economics、《经济学季刊》等国内外一流学术期刊。曾荣获北京大学“教学优秀奖”、“优秀德育奖”、“中国工商银行奖教金—经济学优秀学者奖”、本科生科研优秀指导教师称号。
