Orbis manages several performance-driven equity funds in both long-only and absolute return (market
neutral) format. The firm, which was founded in 1989 by Allan Gray, employs a fundamental, contrarian,
value-oriented investment philosophy. Orbis has grown from $67 million under management at the
beginning of 1990 to $24 billion today. Orbis is headquartered in Bermuda and employs 360 people globally,
with investment teams located in London, Cape Town, Sydney, San Francisco, Lausanne, and Hong Kong.

Job description:
Orbis seeks to invest in public companies that trade at a significant discount to our assessment of their
intrinsic value. A key tenet of the Orbis approach is to take a long-term perspective. Investment Analysts
conduct fundamental, bottom-up research to identify and recommend stocks for purchase based on return
prospects over a three to five year horizon.
In conducting research, Investment Analysts will analyze industries and companies, monitor industry trends
and meet with senior management. Orbis strives to attract and retain talented individuals who embrace
individual accountability and excel in a team-based environment.
The Hong Kong-based investment team currently consists of 7 Investment Analysts providing Asia ex-Japan
equity recommendations across Orbis’ suite of funds. The Hong Kong office was opened in early 2011 and
the successful candidate will join at an exciting time as we continue to develop our investment research
capabilities.
Responsibilities:
• Perform rigorous, bottom-up analysis using both quantitative and qualitative approaches
• Develop independent, fact-driven perspective on individual stocks within a sector
• Meet with senior management teams, including CEOs, COOs, and CFOs
• Author written reports that clearly articulate an investment case, including the appropriate supporting
evidence and quantitative analysis
• Debate stock recommendations with other Orbis investment professionals
