China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study

Call for Papers

You are cordially invited to submit abstracts of your papers to the International Conference on China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study.

Purpose:

China Center for Economic Research (CCER) of Peking University has successfully piloted the China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study (CHARLS) in Gansu and Zhejiang provinces in 2008. The data has been made public since April 2009 and more than 600 users have registered and downloaded the data. In order to facilitate research using the CHARLs data and academic exchanges among users, we will organize annual conferences for users to present their research at CCER. The first conference will be held on August 29, 2010. Separately, researchers can also apply to receive trainings that will occur from August 25-28 (see training advertisement).

Topics: Any research derived from the CHARLS data.

SUBMISSION GUIDLINES:

Please email either a full paper with an abstract or an extended abstract (less than 500 words) of your paper to Ms. Xie Ke at: kexie@ccer.edu.cn. The subject of the email should be “CHARLS conference submission.” Please include your name, affiliation, mailing address, phone numbers and email address. The submission deadline is April 20, 2010. Successful applicants will be notified by May 10, 2010. If accepted the deadline for submitting the completed paper is July 15, 2010.

EXPENSES AND SUBSIDIES

There is no registration fee. For paper presenters coming from outside of Beijing, China Center for Economic Research will cover round-trip transportation and hotel. Authors whose papers are not accepted for presentation can apply to attend the conference at their own costs.
